NEW March 2009 -Medical Director position in the Midwest US. Position title: Medical Director
Description Provide expert medical guidance and assistance to the underwriting staff with the assessment of mortality risk and assure proper risk selection in the underwriting of complex cases. Support and enforce membership pledge and rules as the Company’s Medical Director. Maintain an acceptable mortality range support company sales and profitability goals. Provide your expert medical opinions when dealing with insureds, doctors or attorneys needing an additional explanation of insurance medicine decisions versus clinical medicine. Conduct on site training for underwriting staff related to EKG interpretation, lab results, X-rays, etc. Help develop underwriting guidelines and procedures. Mortality and morbidity review. Participate in medical and underwriting association activities. Additional details can be made available.
Requirements - 10+ years in Life Insurance Medical Director role - Experience with EKG's and other tests related to underwriting - Insurance and clinical background - Board Certified in Insurance Medicine and prefer IM as well - Licensed M.D. from accredited school - Basic computer skills
